Invest in better hearing!
With the holidays approaching, many are looking to expand their budget for gifts and charitable giving. One area people commonly overlook is their medical needs, and the funds in their Health Savings or Flexible Spending Accounts.
If you have leftover money in your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Saving Account (HSA) going into the end of the year, it might make sense to let Start Hearing, one of Christian Brothers Services partners, help you use that money on hearing aids, as they are eligible expenses under most plans.
Many are unaware that hearing aids, hearing aid batteries and additional hearing device equipment are covered by an HSA and FSA. The benefits of using the funds in your HSA/FSA are extensive. Using an HSA or FSA throughout the year can help you manage your medical costs and allow yourself to save for larger medical expenses that may not be fully covered by insurance.
Hearing aids can provide you with profound, life-changing benefits like clearer communication, increased human connectedness, improved health and happiness, and a better overall quality of life.
Most FSA policies come with use-it-or-lose-it rules that, per the IRS, require you to use saved money by the end of the calendar year, or at least early into the following year.
You can type your zip code in here to get a list of hearing care professionals in your area who can demonstrate the latest hearing aids and try them, risk-free, for at least 45 days. Professional fees may apply.
You can visit starthearing.com/partners/cbs or call (888) 529-0194 with any questions and to take advantage of exclusive discounts.
As a member of the Christian Brothers Services Employee Benefit Trust, you have access to Teladoc Health at no additional cost. You can get access to care services from anywhere by phone, video, web, or app.
The EBT recently added Teladoc Health’s Primary360 to the Plan. You can schedule their $0 annual checkup and routine visits can be scheduled quickly with a U.S. board-certified primary care doctor. You will also have access to a dedicated care team that provides personalized health advice, prescriptions, orders for labs and imaging, and referrals to in-person (and in-network) specialists if needed.
Experts from Teladoc recently provided an informative webinar to walk participants through all Teladoc has to offer. View this on-demand webinar to learn more.
Telemedicine options are cost effective and provide convenient access to healthcare. All EBT participants also have access to MyCatholicDoctor, a national organization that connects patients with dedicated medical professionals using video calls, home visits, or referrals to doctors' offices.
With MyCatholicDoctor, participants can start their medical care online, get lab tests or imaging ordered, and have prescriptions sent to any preferred pharmacy. What's unique about MyCatholicDoctor is that they practice evidence-based medicine from a Catholic perspective and consider Catholic spirituality when
it's relevant to a participant’s care.
If in-person care is necessary, providers will offer a home visit, invite participants to be seen in their office, or refer them to a local provider they trust and recommend.
