New ID Cards Coming

ID cards to include
new informationIn order to prevent surprise medical billing, a new law which became effective Jan. 1, 2021, is centered on disclosing a range of information, such as cost-sharing information, in-network negotiated rates, out-of-network historical allowed amounts, and prescription drug prices. In compliance with these requirements, Christian Brothers Health Benefit Services will provide revised, formatted ID cards by January 2022, including the following information:

Plan Deductibles: in- and out-of-network amounts

Maximum limits on out-of-pocket costs including network and out-of-network, as applicable

Phone number and web address for a member to get assistance, including help to find a network provider

Members will be able to access and view their virtual ID card through their member por tal. In addition, members will have the option to print their ID card and/or request additional cards to be mailed. Printing of new ID cards is scheduled for December.
