FLEET CREDIT PROGRAM
Are you taking full advantage of the fleet credits available to you? The RPT Fleet Credit Program was specifically developed to encourage Risk Pooling Trust members to take a proactive approach in protecting their drivers and reducing fleet exposures. Not only does this program help safeguard lives and mitigate risk, but it has also saved members hundreds of thousands of dollars in contribution credits over the years. If your organization has vehicles covered by the RPT, you should be capitalizing on these savings opportunities.
But are you? It’s time to make sure you’re tapping into every credit available and keeping more money in your organization’s budget. Here’s a breakdown of how you can maximize your fleet credits and drive down costs.
Driver Awareness Training Credit: For each documented individual who attends an approved driver awareness training program, you can receive a $50 credit. Driver awareness programs are a crucial step in reducing the likelihood of accidents, and this credit gives you an added incentive to ensure your team is well-trained and alert on the road.
Why not make it a goal to get as many drivers as possible trained and documented? It’s a simple step that could add up to significant savings.
Behind-the-Wheel Driver Evaluation Credit: A credit of up to $175 is available for each religious driver who undergoes an evaluation by an approved, behind-the-wheel evaluator. This credit is specifically designed for religious drivers who are either 80 years of age or older or whose leadership has raised driving concerns. To qualify, the member must directly pay for the evaluation, and the process must include both cognitive and road tests.
Ensuring older or at-risk drivers are evaluated not only promotes safety but also offers a generous credit for taking this responsible step.
Calculating your total eligible credits is straightforward. Simply multiply the number of vehicles you have covered by $50. This figure will give you the total credit amount available to you over a 2-year rolling period.
Example: If your organization has 30 vehicles covered as of June 1, 2024, you would have $1,500 worth of credits available over a two-year period. Let’s say you then used $1,150 in credits by October 2024 for members who completed driver awareness training and another $350 on May 1, 2025, for two drivers evaluated by a certified specialist. At that point, your available credits would be exhausted until October 2026, at which time you would be eligible for another $1,150 in credits, assuming you still have 30 vehicles covered by the RPT.
Imagine the savings you could achieve by taking a few simple steps to access these credits!
To make sure you receive the driver awareness training credit, you will need to submit either sign-in sheets or certificates of completion from the training program to Christian Brothers Risk Management Services. This documentation should include the names of the individuals who attended any live training programs or completed any online training.
For the behind-the-wheel evaluation credit, provide an invoice showing the cost of the driver evaluations that were paid for directly by the community along with a copy of the evaluations that detail the cognitive and road tests performed.
Submitting your documentation is easy, and the rewards are significant. Don’t leave money on the table—act now!
