Student Accident Plans offer peace of mind
As a school administrator, you are entrusted with the safety and well-being of your students. One critical aspect of this responsibility is ensuring that adequate insurance coverage is in place to protect students in the event of accidents or injuries.
As you navigate this essential aspect of school management, Christian Brothers Risk Management Services is here to support you with our comprehensive Student Accident Plan, addressing your needs and offering peace of mind.
Accidents can happen anywhere, including within the school premises or during school-sponsored/school supervised events. Sports contribute to the largest number of school-related injuries. A study by Stanford Medicine reveals that around 30 million children and teenagers participate in organized sports in the U.S., resulting in over 3.5 million injuries annually. More than 775,000 children aged 14 and under receive treatment in hospital emergency rooms for sports-related injuries each year. Most of these injuries result from falls, being struck by objects, and collisions.
Sports injuries can happen in both school-sponsored sports and in gym classes, but as any school administrator knows, accidents can occur anywhere from the school bus to the playground, and even in the classroom. These statistics emphasize the urgent need for comprehensive accident coverage for students.
According to the American Journal of Public Health, annually, 1 in 14 students suffers a medically attended or temporarily disabling injury at school. These injuries result in $3.2 billion in medical spending.
When a school invests in insurance for student injuries occurring at school or during school-related activities, it serves a dual purpose. First, it shields parents from potential financial hardships that may arise from medical expenses. Second, it gives school administrators peace of mind, as they know all students are covered for their medical needs, regardless of their families’ insurance status. Importantly, no student should be denied medical treatment due to lack of insurance coverage.
